AI's energy consumption is surging worldwide.
The AI boom is reshaping the energy landscape by driving unprecedented power demand, accelerating investment in alternative energy sources, and forcing grid infrastructure upgrades. Innovation in energy-efficient AI models, sustainable computing, and advanced cooling technologies will be key to solving the impending global energy crisis and the availability of water resources brought on by the growth of artificial intelligence. The direction of this Capstone project, a three-page HTML website, aims to educate the reader on AI energy and water resource consumption. The process first involves outlining the functionality of how AI uses energy and water, how much is being consumed, and what some solutions are on the home page. Then, an animated infographic will show how water is used to cool down AI on the Infographic page. The infographic is related to understanding how AI uses water. The text will discuss the various ways water and energy are used, from big data servers to individual queries. Finally, the remix will explore how AI energy and water consumption affect the environment. It will include videos of technology and the environment, with text explaining how much is being consumed and possible solutions at the end.
