Persona is a series of Japanese RPGs that have been around for just over 20 years. There are essentially two worlds the player explores in every game. There is the 'regular' world where the main character — a high schooler in each of the Persona games — goes through their daily lives making connections with those around them. Then there is what is called the Metaverse, a place between worlds created from cognition. There is a strong connection to Jungian Psychology in this series and the power of the psyche. The Persona series has altered stories in each of the games but with the same overarching theme, and in doing so relies heavily on the individual narrative as the player immerses themselves within those worlds.
