Tu y yo is painting of my mother and me from when I was a child. Coincidentally at the time that I was painting this my mother dreamt of this, like I had painted her dream.

Marigolds are a flower that is native to Mexico, and that remind me of my culture. Growing up my mothers garden always had them this painting is based a picture of me in her garden.

Florecitas is a watercolor painting I made in my last days in my highschool's art studio. It started with random references photos but became a nice composition.

What's Beneath is about the hate that was towards Asians at the time of the Covid pandemic. I created this painting as a a form of support and even won an Award at the SW Regional Art Show.

Canasta is basket Spanish I made this cermaic basket filled with traditional Mexican breads with the my childhood in mind. Looking at this piece takes me back to when I was a child.

Nopal or catus is a staple in Mexican culture and as made this piece I was reminded of how my mother always had cactuses. This piece is quite delicate and fragile so it took a lot of patience to make.

When I make art I am constantly thinking of my culture and as I made this piece I thought of the type of pottery that my mother used for her plants and in the kitchen. Looking at pieces like this remind me of my roots.

This vase took me about quite some time to complete because I made it with coils since at the time I didn't know how to throw on a wheel. But I think that using this method taught me about patience and craftmenship.
