Reconstruction Teams

Thirty-two graduating seniors from the Creative Media & Digital Culture program—working on one of six teams—and four staff members from the Electronic Literature Lab at Washington State University Vancouver collaborated to restore Amnesia for the Thomas M. Disch Estate. Along with designing and developing the game and its many in-game assets, the student teams also documented the project through the game’s website, videos, and podcasts.

Executive Team

The student teams were led by senior Andrew Thompson, who served as Project Manager. Suzanne Anderson was the professor of record for the capstone course. Dene Grigar, Director of the lab, served as Art Director; Holly Slocum, Interface Design and CSS developer; Greg Philbrook, as Technical Support; and Suzanne Anderson, instructor-of-record. All members of the team hail from the CMDC program.

Animation

The four members of the Animation Team produced the 54 3D in-game assets and models, the 2D animated logo, and 2D special effects for the videos.

Game Development

The six members of the Game Development Team programmed the 70,000+ lines of code that comprised the game, updated portions of the gameplay, and collaborated with Slocum to redesign the game interface.

Promotion

The Promotions Team handled all of the social media promotions on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, created the podcast, and wrote the press release announcing the release of the game.

Video

The six members of the Video Team created the game’s teaser trailer that appears on the website and used for social media, a full-length documentary video about the making of Amnesia: Restored, and the video promotion on Instagram.

Web Development

The six members of the Web Development Team coded and designed the game’s website, handled its UX/UI, and oversaw its testing.

Design

The six members of the Design Team chose the project’s color palette, typography, and mood; created the 24-page Brand Guide; and collaborated with all other teams to implement the design across all elements.
