For 'Elegy for Seaweed,' all of the poetry was first typed out using an Olympia typewriter, then scanned and laid out in Photoshop.
The pages are then printed, stained, dried, & cut. The staining process is very time consuming.
The pages that will be used as the flyleaves - the pages attached to the front & back covers - are measured, cut, folded, & glued (see video).
The cut pages are then arranged & sewn together to form a signature. Fabric tape is then slid through the loops (see video).
The flyleaves are then glued to the signature, and the fabric tape is glued around the outside of the flyleaves.
Finally, a layer of super - a loosely woven, stiffly starched crash - is glued around the folded edge.
