Web Design
Modern Walkman*
For the narrative project we were given the freedom to tell a story with code. I decided to tell the story of my Walkman. I included audio of some of my very favorite tapes and included the stories behind each cassette. As for the design of this project, I was inspired by a Sony Walkman ad. In the project I used Java for the first time. I used a modal tutorial from W3 Schools, and I customized it to fit my vision. In this project I used CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
Bibim Guksu Recipe*
For the recipe project I chose to outline a Bibim Guksu recipe. Last fall I got to study in South Korea and fell in love with Bibim Guksu. The inspiration behind this website was Bon Appetit’s website. I liked the simplicity and the accents of yellow that they incorporated. For the project I used HTML and CSS. During this project, I learned how to use grid and position containers using the inspect tool. I also learned how to use the span inline container.
Vancouver Coffee*
For this project I wanted to feature coffee shops in Vancouver WA. When designing this project, I wanted to make sure I appealed to PNW coffee lovers. So, I used a pine tree background and warm colors. This was the first project I hand coded on my own, so I was able to learn a lot. This was also the first time I used responsive design (media quarries) into my web design. I am still learning how to use them effectively, but this project was a good introduction.
