Sketching
Sketching is the foundation of any piece of art. Before digging deep into the details, you need to establish the overall shape and form of the piece. Without doing this, you risk losing sense of proportion, scale, and all sorts of minor problems that could require you to undo hours of work.
When I sketch, I like to exaggerate as much of the form as I possibly can using a rough pencil brush. This may not happen on my first run through, which is sort of the nature of sketching. I continue to rough out the shape and different parts of the piece, and once im comfortable wth that I move into the details. As I draw out details, I tend to make minor changes to the form as I go, slowly working the final look into the sketch. From here, I remove the background color and export the image as a PNG to be used in Clip Studio.
