Lorian and Lothric are the sons of King Oceiros and the Queen of Lothric. The King and Queen wanted to create a the perfect child to link the first flame while surviving as a lord of cinder. Their attempts failed, and it is said the family committed a deed so heinous that it cursed Lothric. The deed was done and Lothric was destined to burn and become a lord of cinder. However Lothric was frail, and in an attempt to strenthen his brother so he could link the fire, Lorian, the elder brother and mighty knight, fused his soul with Lothric. Doing so left Lorian mute and with useless legs. Fusing their souls meant they were now inseperable, one could not die without the other. Due events of their family and the state of the world, they rejected their duty to become lords of cinder.
Since the twin princes refused to link the fire, a contingency plan was activated, causing the previous lords of cinder to awaken and offer their strength to the flame. Ludleth of Courland was the only one willing to take his throne, the other three had forsaken the flame for their own reasons.
