Michael Scott is the outgoing and often clueless regional manager of the Dunder Mifflin paper company's Scranton branch. Michael is known for his unusual blend of incompetence, insecurity, and an insatiable desire for approval and friendship. Michael is defined by his well-intentioned, frequently misguided, attempts to be a good boss and a likable person. He is known for his inappropriate and incorrect comments, often leading to awkward situations and cringe-worthy moments. Michael genuinely cares about his employees and seeks their approval and affection, which leads to funny scenarios and heartwarming moments.
As a self proclaimed "Worlds Best Boss", Michael thinks he has his hands full with his branch. Really, his branch has their hands full with him and his antics. Aswell as his multiple alter egos that pop up in different situations.
His alter egos span from "Michael Klump," a portly and enthusiastic advocate for weight loss, to "Michael Scarn," a character who relates to a 007 type of ego, also seen in a video spin off called "Threat Level Midnight". One of the most memorable is "Prison Mike," a character he created to teach his employees about the harsh realities of prison life, complete with a bandana-wrapped head and an exaggerated tough-guy persona. Michael's alter egos, while often misguided, exemplify his well-intentioned but occasionally offensive efforts to connect with his coworkers.
