Amnesia Restored

The restoration of the 1986 game authored by Thomas M. Disch has been reconstructed by graduates of the Creative Media & Digital Culture program and supported by the Electronic Literature Lab. Amnesia: Restored offers four modes of gameplay for players to experience: the original Apple IIe, Commodore 64, and IBM PC, and the new web-based, contemporary mode for today's computing devices. It also restores the portions of Disch's manuscript omitted by Electronic Arts when it published the game in 1986. Other features include an easily accessible x-street indexer, interactive map of Manhattan, list of commands, address book, and 3D inventory of assets.

Autovation

Since the invention of the first automobile, advances in technology and human ingenuity have allowed the car to evolve into being safer and more efficient than before. In early 2012 the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry reached out to sponsor Dick Hannah Dealerships of Vancouver, WA and the Creative Media and Digital Culture program of Washington State University Vancouver to convey these advances over time using cutting edge technologies.

Beasts and Heroes

You are the hero. You are charged with defending your lands, conquering others by leading armies, commanding beasts, and gathering loot as you are thrown into the midsts of war with real-time strategy, virtual reality gameplay. The CMDC Senior Seminar team collaborated with the game company Emortal Sports, Inc. to build the game flow, create game assets, develop the game's web and social media presence, and document the experience of Beasts and Heroes, the real-time strategy, virtual reality game!

Clark County Historical Museum

"The Clark County Historical Society (CCHS) was established in 1917 to assist in the preservation of historic sites. Today, we are a vibrant museum featuring exhibits, talks, and events focusing on local stories across all segments of Clark County's history. We embrace those memories and care for the history being written everyday, so they are never forgotten." The senior seminar team from spring 2020 re-created the website for the Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM). The CCHM mission statement of gather, save, share really inspired the team to highlight the value CCHM brings to the Clark County community.

Nicknamed "Project Renovare," this spring 2020 senior seminar team re-created the website for the Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM). The CCHM mission statement of gather, save, share really inspired the team to highlight the value CCHM brings to the Clark County community. Having a strong, functioning website is essential for any business. The design of the Clark County Historical Museums website must relay information about their business while telling the story of its history and unique character. Four teams working on Project Renovare, the Design, Content, Video and Web Development teams all collaborated under the guidance of the Leadership team to build an innovative virtual experience for the CCHM.

This marketing package was created as a multimedia resource to educate the public about Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency. The contents in the package include Video, Buzzfeed, Infographics and Articles for print and web. The goal for this project was to assist CRESA in public outreach and create content that can be used for their wide audience.

DEAD AIR: An Atmospheric Horror Experience

Dead Air was made in collaboration with the Portland Indie Game Squad (PIGSquad) and the Creative Media and Digital Culture Program (CMDC Program) at Washington State University Vancouver during the PIGSquad's July Remix Summer Slow Jam. Summer Slow Jams is a collection of game jam events happening once a month in June, July, and August that provide structure and networking opportunities for creatives in Portland and remote participants. Participants are challenged to finish a creative project, learn new things, meet new people, and share their work with the community.

Devonian Botanical Garden App

The mobile phone application prototype for the contemporary islamic garden at Edmonton's devonian botanic garden will be used to show how apps can enhance the garden experience for visitors utilizing some of the affordances of modern mobile phone technology via four different moods. depending on visitors' choice of mood (play, learn, reflect, question), they will be given content and information (i.e. interpretation) on the topics of botany & environment, art & design, music & poetry, as well as intercultural understanding.

DrowZdrive

The patented Drowsy Driver system senses motions in the steering column that drivers make naturally. When a driver is rested and alert, there is a certain pattern of steering wheel motions that is detected (the baseline). When a driver is drowsy or distracted, the steering wheel motion is different from the baseline.

Electronic Book of Lists

This project, begun in January 2014 in the Senior Capstone course by seven students, involves the creation of a multimedia version of the print-based Book of Lists published each year by the Vancouver Business Journal. Partners included the CMDC Program, WSUV, WSU, the Vancouver Business Journal, and Instructional Technologies Inc. The end result is a online publication that works for all computing devices and allows for interactivity and and subscription services.

Game Changers 2015

A month-long exhibit at Nouspace Gallery of influential video games that have changed cultural views and behaviors as well as impacted business, education, health, and communication. This exhibit explores some of the technological innovations that have occurred in the 40-year development of video games, starting with the first commercially successful game, Pong, to the emergence of 3D game environments like the Oculus Rift.

Historic Routes

Historic Routes: A Tour of Downtown Vancouver is an immersive, interactive, and educational app that allows users to experience and interact with significant places, pieces, and people from the history of Vancouver through a guided walking tour. Historic Routes was created for the Clark County Historical Museum by students of the Creative Media & Digital Culture program at Washington State University Vancouver and funded by the City of Vancouver Lodging Tax Fund.

Huli

When a mysterious force threatens the harmony of their world, Huli and Maomi race to drive the darkness away. Inspired by the charm of indie games and the engaging structure of puzzle platformers, Huli follows the aftermath of Huli and Maomi's momentous sacrifice to preserve the sanctity of their world. Using the last of Maomi's power, Huli enters a series of forgotten places to recover the scattered fragments of their fallen companion and restore balance to the spirit world. Huli was made in collaboration with the Portland Indie Game Squad (PIGSquad) and the Creative Media and Digital Culture Program (CMDC Program) at Washington State University Vancouver during the PIGSquad's June Summer Slow Jam. The project's pre-production workshop was funded by the Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver (ASWSUV) and hosted by the Digital Design Club.

InStat Research helps institutional and retail clients model, develop and implement trading strategies for the financial markets. They offer consultations, software development, trade automation, customized back-testing and workflow automation. Led by Anthony Abry, a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), InStat Research uses Amibroker technical analysis software for a majority of its development.

Interracial Intimacies

Interracial Intimacies is a website based on a research project that studied intimate relationships between men of Chinese heritage and women of non-Asian heritage in Toronto between 1910 and 1950. The site has two components: an archive which contains all of the research materials used for this project, and "Thinking Like a Historian," a site that enables users to learn how historians conduct research.

Over the last 75 years iQ Credit Union, its employees, and its members have grown and changed along side one another. This site is a celebration of that journey and the history we share together. Each section represents a different decade of iQ Credit Union's history, exploring milestones specific to iQCU as well as significant cultural events.

JobWordz

JobWordz was created when there was little or no response to resumes submitted through online employer applications. Time is precious and tweaking resumes then submitting them online is time consuming. Research revealed a step missing in the process between a job seeker completing a resume and submitting it online. This led to frustration, and then, to invention. JobWordz. Resumes are much more than matching keywords from the job description.

Kaegi Pharmacy Exhibit

The Kaegi Pharmacy is an exhibit located in the Museum of the Oregon Territory. The original Kaegi Pharmacy operated in Wilsonville from 1927 to 1989. Brothers John and Richard Kaegi donated their antique collection of medical supplies, which illustrates what a pharmacy could have looked like back then.

Kaegi Virtual Pharmacy is an exhibit that brings alive the experience of the Kaegi Pharmacy circa 1910 using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. It is created for the Museum of the Oregon Territory (MOOT) by students of the Creative Media & Digital Culture (CMDC) program at Washington State University Vancouver (WSUV).

King of Space

This new version of the 1991 version of King of Space, by award-winning writer Sarah Smith, updates the interface of the original game to make gameplay more intuitive for contemporary audiences. A new navigation strategy enhances the game's narrative, and a persistent menu allows players to access additional information for a better game experience. You can play the games by themselves, read the narrative, or do both together.

Life Renewed

The Mount St. Helens Science & Learning Center's "Life Renewed" project is a transmedia educational environment that tells the story about the rebirth of life on Mount St. Helens following the 1980 eruption. The project incorporates games and other forms of information via a touch screen installation and mobile device. It was designed and created by 23 seniors in the Creative Media & Digital Culture Program at Washington State University Vancouver.

Northwest Wine & Food Society Website

In 2020, a small team of CMDC students created a new website for the Northwest Wine & food society. Since 2015, NW&FS has provided over $100,000 in support of individual students, equipment, program curriculum in the areas of culinary, viticulture and hospitality programs.

Now iTour is a project created by the Fall 2018 graduating seniors of WSU Vancouver, in collaboration with The Historic Trust and RealWear. With the goal to contextualize history through interactive technology, this project spans across multiple avenues of digital technology. The Parks Foundation of Clark County: A Digital Reimagining is a project created by the Spring 2020 graduating seniors of WSU Vancouver. Students of the Creative Media and Digital Culture program at Washington State University Vancouver have created a visitors' engagement tool utilizing contemporary augmented reality technology via smartphone and tablet for Providence Academy in downtown Vancouver, WA. Students also developed an interactive website with a digital timeline that further showcases the accolades of Mother Joseph and accompanies the content of the application.

"The Ridgefield School District Team is producing a promotional video series for the the Ridgefield School District that will be comprised of four videos. The main video will promote the school district as a whole by highlighting the Ridgefield community, it's schools, sports, extracurricular programs, and events. The other three videos will focus on each school within the district: South Ridge Elementary School, Union Ridge Elementary School, View Ridge Middle School, and Ridgefield High School." — CMDC Blog

Safety Climate Assessment Tool (S-CAT)

The Safety Climate Assessment Tool (S-CAT) is a free tool available to any construction contractor or safety and health professional who wants tailored and actionable information to improve the safety of every worker at every job-site. Feedback is provided on 8 leading indicators of safety climate that have been shown to be predictive of employee injury rates. With just a few clicks, company employees or an individual can answer questions about each indicator and then receive a personalized feedback report with benchmarking and comparative information indicating their current areas of success and ideas for making improvements.

Len is the founding shareholder and C.E.O of Scarecrow Trading Inc. He is responsible for signal development and market investment strategies. He is also the designer of a proprietary market positioning systems that is used to optimally expose client's assets for growth opportunity and risk mitigation. This system is currently being used by several money management firms to assist in directing clients assets.

Envisioned as a combination museum, library, and preservation site, The NEXT maintains and makes its archives accessible for the next generationand responds to the growing need for open-access, travel-free cultural and research experiences for today's public and scholars.
