We arrived in London around 10:30am on August 31st. Resting on the plane was little to be desired, but we made it. After navigating the tube system (subway) reached out Airbnb and began our grand adventure of Europe.
Some things we did in London were:
Tower of London tour
River cruse
Churchill's war room
British Museum
London eye
Platform 9 3/4
Sherlock Holmes gift shop
Buckingham Palace
Westminster Abby
Elizabeth tower (big ben is actually the bell not the clock tower itself)
We ate fish and chips and a beer at a local, old local London pub called St. Stephens. Classic fish and chips served with peas and tartar sauce. So delicious. The pub added to the English feel, old dark wood, small round table and close sitting with the people next to you. It definingly is a way to meet new people.
We also walked to a small but very popular restaurant we had seen on social media right before we went on our trip, The Barge house. A special they serve is a large sourdough bread bowl with different fillings, topped with an egg then cooked in a large old fashion brick oven. Would highly recommend.
After being in London we it felt more at home to be in Ireland. It was rainy when we got there but not the entire time. The rolling green hills, the farmland and small towns made is both feel at home and glad to spend some time out of a large city.
Our only full day in Belfast we spend on a tour up to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and Giant's Causeway. We even stopped by the dark hallows which was featured in the TV show Game of thrones.
The views of the country sides and the entire day was just beautiful. (I'm sorry but you will see me saying and describing the views of this a lot on here).
In Dublin we had a little more time then Belfast we explored around town and found a pub to have diner and a few drinks at. Chelsea had asked for ranch for her fries and you should have seen the confused look the waitress gave us, it was priceless. They brought out some sort of brown mustered. They don't have salad dressing like we do and they don’t know what ranch is either.
I don’t believe it rained one time while we were in Dublin.
We toured the Guinness store house and even got to pore and sample our own Guinness.
We also to a tour day to the Cliffs of Moher. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. But it was so windy we were being blown around.
On this tour we meet a girl names Lynn who was from Cape Town South Africa and it was a wonderful experience getting to know and her and learn her story.
On the day we went to the airport for our trip to Rome it was 4am and there was an elderly lady sitting in a pub at the airport next to where we were having breakfast and she was drinking a beer and we had a little laugh to ourselves and happy she was enjoying her 'best life'.
