In Germany once we got to our Airbnb we walked to Augustener beer garden and had dinner. It was the first place in all of Europe that has salad dressing! (Italy did have oil and balsamic vinegar). We were weirdly so excited.
We went to local bakery and grocery store. In the store they had a bread vending machine which we thought was both cool and weird.
We experienced a little bit of the great German Oktoberfest.
We saw the large Glockenspiel, which is a large clock tower with figurines that come out sing and dance, but only happens 2-3 times a day.
Another place we went to was we went a little bit outside of Munich to the Dachau concentration camp site and memorial museum.
Dachau was the first concentration camp in Germany.
It was an interesting experience to learn all of the history but had a very heavy feeling and atmosphere while there.
On our train ride from Munich to Zurich we met a guy from Bellingham who was traveling Europe for 90 days by himself and just going with the flow. We talked to him about his experience and our own.
Zug where we were staying is about 30 south. The one full day we had there we wanted to do some hiking but the hike near by we tried to go to, the path was under construction so instead we walked around town and adventured.
We also rented a peddle boat for the lake and got free ice cream with it. We were sold!
Switzerland is so beautiful and we wished we had more time to spend there. It was our most expensive stop for sure though.
We ate at a small cafe for lunch and tried there Kürbis creme (german cream of pumpkin) soup, it was so good that once we got back home I made some home made.
