AM is the band's most iconic, and I mean ICONIC album. Released on September 9 2013, this album was the Monkey's most successful album, topping music charts all over the world and is still well known up to today. Many of the AM's top songs have recently began to circulate through Tik ToK and other social media apps, still showing how popular and loved this album is to fans and non-fans all ages, everywhere.
The sound and songs of AM make this album stand out from the others with its inspiration coming from psychedelic rock, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, "desert rock", R&B, and soul. Music critics have also praised its success due to its "darker and groovier" sound.
The first song I ever heard from the Arctic Monkeys (and soon became my favorite song ever) was from AM called "Fireside". At the time (2013), I was only 11 years old and I didn't know much about this band and its members but with that song and the AM album, it sparked something in me.
