The First Album

The Monkey's First Album, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" or (W.P.S.I.A.T.W.I.N.) was released in 2006 and quickly gained fame due to its many themes. Such themes that were presented in this album were about clubbing and nightlife in general. WPSIATWIN can range from different genres music critics say, ranging from indie rock to post-punk revivial to Brit-Pop.

This was the only album with then bass player Andy Nicholson who departed from the group due to medical reasons, however the album won many awards in 2006. It won best album of 2006 by Time Machine, the Brit Award for Best British Album, the 2007 Mercury Prize, and received a Grammy Nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.
