Its been 3 years since the Arctic Monkeys have released an album (Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino), and fans are anxious for "AM 7". This is the name that fans are giving the hopefully soon to be announced seventh album. Only one member of the group, Matt Helders, has his own social media account however, only posts his own photography shots. The Monkeys do have their own Instagram, twitter, and their own site but the last thing they posted was in 2020 for a charity event: Live at the Royal Albert Hall for War Child UK.
Even during the pandemic, the Monkeys were all located in different places and did not communicate with each other as much since calling on Zoom was not their type of thing.
During their charity concert and the pandemic, there were no recent photos of any of the members and with all of them in different places, fans were losing hope and desperately praying that they weren't broken up. Until, finally, in late August of this year, fans were happily shocked to see a photo circulating through social media of the band all together in front of a hotel called Butley Priory. Apparently this photo was accidently posted by the hotel's chef who is pictured in the middle and was then taken down once it gained a lot of attention.
This photo went viral and fans were finally optimistic of a new album in the works.

Another recent photo(s) popped up, this time causing more chaos within the AM community and this time of frontman and fan favorite Alex Turner.
With more and more recent photos, fans were really confident that AM7 is finally coming and very soon will be offically announced. I actually follow a twitter account called "Was AM7 announced today?" to make sure I don't miss any annoucnements.
Then on the 16th of November 2021, the Arctic Monkeys made an official post after a full year had passed on their social media accounts with new tour dates for next year lined up. Fans were quickly resharing and commenting their excitement for the annoucement. Near the same time, drummer Matt Helders was interviewed by Rick Edwards on BBC's Drumathon, and confirmed that the new album will be released in 2022. "Yeah, pretty much,” he said when asked if the new album was ”ready to go”, adding: “It was a bit disjointed how we had to do it, and there are bits to finish off, but yeah, it’s all in the works."
