Childhood

Early Childhood was filled with PBS Kids and Disney Channel, and the movies I watched reflected that. My favorites were Meet the Robinsons, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and Holes.

Meet the Robinsons gave me the quote I try to live my life by: “Keep Moving Forward” I loved it so much it was my senior quote in high school and I painted it on my grad cap for community college graduation.

Charlie and the Chocolate didn’t give me any inspirational quotes like Meet the Robinsons did, but it was the first movie I saw made by Tim Burton. I really liked it, the odd characters and the only somewhat unnerving style, it was fascinating to my little brain. This is the movie that sparked a later obsession with Tim Burton movies.

Holes is a movie I could watch over and over again. I don’t know if it’s the plot, the fact that it’s based on a book, or the great acting that gets me. I think it might be the overlapping story between past and present that makes me want to watch it again and again.

“In fact, would the count like to hit me?”

“Is there a problem with the earth’s gravitational pull?”

“No no no, ring my doorbell, that doorbell will give you a rash.”
