Boil water and raisins and let cool. Cream shortening, sugar. Add 3 eggs and beat well. Add vanilla and cooked raisins. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Add to raisin mixture and blend. Add nuts and chill. Drop by tsp. on greased pan. Flatten with glass bottom dipped in sugar. Bake 12-15 min. at 400*.
